Two of the team, Kate & Jade, did a skydive on behalf of Dream-A-Way, an Exeter based charity whose aim is to assist people living in Devon & Cornwall with physical and learning difficulties. They provide grants towards holidays and provide day trips - whether it is fulfilling a lifetime dream, experiencing great opportunities or just having 'time out' from daily routines. Both Kate and Jade jumped 15,000 ft at Dunkerswell, which involved 60 seconds of free fall, a once in a lifetime experience.
On 24th April 2016, Claire ran the London Marathon in aid of the Exmouth Beach Rescue Club, this was a fantastic achievement as it was her first ever at the full distance. Claire raised £1251.74 by running a "Guess my time" competition, and the winners received lovely prizes, such as a Magnum of champagne, a Bvlgari Fragrance set, travel holiday voucher and a huge chocolate hamper, all supplied by our tour and cruise operator partners.
The Exmouth Beach Rescue Club was formed in 1986 as a volunteer life guard charity. They patrol Exmouth sea front on Sundays throughout the Summer season as well as training in surf life saving sport throughout the year for juniors and seniors. The club are raising money to purchase a defibrillator for public use for when the hut is unmanned and the funds raised will go towards this.
Each Year we engage to help our local community raise money for The Budleigh Lions Club and Cancer Research UK. As a branch we give raffle prizes for the Charity event that is held which in the past have been a Holiday Gift Voucher as well as other generous donations. We sell the tickets for the organizers of the event and take part in helping the set up of the event. This year we donated a £50 Hays Travel voucher and a bottle of prosecco for the raffle.
