The weather in Benalmadena is one of its major plus points. After all, it’s in the Costa del Sol, which translates to “coast of the sun.” Summers are hot, with hardly any rain - and temperatures often peaking above 30°C in July and August. Spring and autumn are popular times for Benalmadena holidays, as the weather is a little cooler, but still sunny and pleasant. And whilst November through to January are the rainiest months, the downpours tend to be short and daytime highs still reach the mid teens, making it a good choice for winter sun holidays.
Things to see & do

You could be forgiven for thinking holidays in Benalmadena are all about the beach, but theres so much more to see and do here. Families especially love the scenic cable car ride into the hills, as well as the resorts aquarium, butterfly park and nearby wildlife centres and water parks. If you fancy a change of scenery, hop on a boat trip to Gibraltar, or visit a whole new continent on a ferry trip to Morocco. Visit nearby Marbella and marvel at the glitzy Golden Mile, or play a round of golf on one of the Costas excellent courses. There are stacks of culture and beautiful scenery nearby, too: head out to Ronda for views and history abound, see the city of Malaga or head out in to the Andalucian countryside.

Theres a night scene to suit just about everyone on Benalmadena holidays. In the cobbled Old Town, the pace is relaxed, with plenty of pretty pavement cafes to choose from. Arroyo de la Miel, meanwhile, bustles after dark with clubs and sets from big name DJs. Down the seafront, meanwhile, youll find everything from pubs to karaoke bars. Many hotels in Benalmadena lay on their own entertainment.

Food & drink

Whether its paella and tapas in the quaint Old Town, fast food, or the huge choice of international restaurants in the resort centre, theres an eatery for everyone in Benalmadena.
